Rodent Control & Wildlife Exclusion
Keep rodents and wildlife out of your home for good!
Exclusion is the act of sealing all gaps from 1/4” to 1/2” in diameter to prevent rodents, squirrels, bats and other wildlife from entering your home. If you have or had rodents/squirrels in your home, there is a significant chance you will get them again. The only way to prevent future occurrences is to seal all openings around the roofline.
Exclusion must begin with a detailed inspection. Finding such small holes is very time consuming, but you should always choose a company that takes pride in their thoroughness. At Breda , we don’t do ‘visual’ inspections. Using the infrared camera, we are able to pick up the rodents trail lines that would remain hidden otherwise. It helps us determine rodent entry points and the volume of rodents we are encountering. The infrared also allows us to tell where the insulation has been soiled, so proper removal can take place. In certain cases disinfectant should be applied to prevent the spread of diseases.
Breda provides all repairs to homes with their exclusion. With Breda, we can eliminate the infestation, seal up entry points, disinfect, and fix any damage caused by the rodents or wildlife. No need to call different contractors for wildlife repairs.
Our rodent prevention and wildlife exclusion programs offer:
Rodent Exclusion
- Rodents only require a 1/2 inch gap to enter a home.
- Common rodent entry points include crawl space vents, crawl doors, exhaust vents, roof vents, soffit area, and areas along the fascia.
- Breda’s professionally trained technicians will seal up these entry points while maintaining the cosmetic integrity of your home.
Rodent Trapping
- Placement of the newest and most effective rodent snap traps along with a non-toxic bait used as an attractant.
- Traps will be checked by our trained technicians regularly for bait additions and rodent removal.
Rodent Monitoring
- Placement of locked, tamper proof bait stations fixed to patio stones around the perimeter of your home or business. These stations use an anticoagulant rodenticide to eliminate your rodent problem.
- Monitoring frequency will be determined by the level of rodent pressure.

Squirrel Control:
- Squirrels may live in your attic year round.
- The attic is an excellent place to raise young, it protects the baby grey squirrel from predators and the elements.
- Squirrels eat nuts, fruits and seeds, but if those foods are limited, they can survive on bugs, bird eggs and even animal carcass.
- Grey Squirrels will store food for later feedings in your attic.
- Southern flying squirrels are much smaller than the grey squirrel and most Georgians don’t realize Southern flying squirrels live in Atlanta.
- Flying squirrels are nocturnal.
- Flying squirrels will also store food, but typically very near their nest but outside the home.
- Breda uses the ‘Trap-Alert’ system that combines GPS and Wireless technology to notify the client and company when a squirrel is trapped.
- The ‘Trap-Alert’ system is the latest technological advancement made in the wildlife industry.
Bat Control:
- Bat entry points are best sealed during the months of September-April.
- Bats should never be harmed when removed, they are very beneficial to our environment.
- Bat “guano” should be dealt with by a professional and can cause serious illness.
- Histoplasmosis is a fungal infection of the lungs, can be contracted by exposure to areas where bird or bat droppings have accumulated.
- Bat exclusion typically requires sealing gable vents where bats enter or are roosting.
